We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Litigation Legal Assistant to support our litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced, professional environment, with strong benefits and a positive workplace culture.
Position Summary
The Litigation Legal Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals. This role requires excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to multiple litigation attorneys (up to six).
- Manage complex calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Prepare, revise, and format pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents.
- Electronically file legal documents in state and federal courts.
- Draft engagement letters and assist with audit responses.
- Process new client intake, including conflict checks and file setup.
- Manage attorney expense reports and time entries.
- Maintain organized client files and ensure timely follow-up on assignments.
- Support attorneys with project coordination and deadline tracking.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience supporting litigation attorneys strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal) with a client-service mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Resourceful, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), including document formatting.
Work Environment
- Regular, reliable on-site attendance during core business hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet case demands.
