Your Impact
You will provide support for FOIA/public records request, including proposing redactions, managing intake and documentation of such requests, and day-to-day management of FOIA-related administrative tasks.
You will assist with the preparation and maintenance of corporate records of McKinsey’s US public sector business, such as board meeting minutes, resolutions, and bylaws. You will monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the firm’s North America public sector business. You will also support internal audits and investigations related to government contracting compliance issues.
You will draft and review non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and other commercial agreements, conduct legal research on federal and state statutes, regulations, case law, and related topics, and summarize findings for attorneys and other firm stakeholders, manage the North America public sector legal department’s inboxes, files, databases, and records, assist with the development and delivery of training programs on government contracting regulations and best practices for attorneys and contract managers, and lastly assist with the development and management of central repository of knowledge assets (contract templates, disclaimers, standard documents, etc.

The work of McKinsey DC (USG) spans economic development, education, health care, public finance, infrastructure, operations and delivery, and defense and security. We work with the world’s largest public sector organizations to address major challenges such as macroeconomic vulnerability, population aging, urbanization, and digitization of government services. In the social sector, we support the world’s leading institutions in developing and scaling up solutions to major social challenges. One of the major hubs for our Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice is our Washington, D.C. office. Co-location with the D.C-based client service teams, stakeholders, and legal and contracts professionals is required.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- U.S. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- 1+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office suite
- Confident team player who is highly collaborative and flexible
- Self-starter with ability to drive tasks and projects to completion
- Ability to develop relationships and network within and outside the firm
- Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially, managing and prioritizing multiple competing priorities
