Neal & Leroy, LLC is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Legal Assistant to support 3–4 attorneys across a diverse range of litigation, real estate, corporate, employment, and transactional matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned legal assistant who takes ownership of their work, anticipates attorney needs, and enjoys being an integral part of a collaborative legal team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision while keeping matters organized, moving forward, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive day-to-day support to 3–4 attorneys.
- Prepare, proofread, format, and finalize pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, agreements, correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Prepare and electronically file documents with federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and other filing authorities, coordinate service and track filings and deadlines.
- Assist with litigation and case management, including discovery, case files, calendars, and deadlines.
- Support real estate, corporate, employment, and other transactional matters, including document organization, checklists, closings, and post-closing activities.
- Assist with real estate matters and be familiar with documents such as title commitments, surveys, deeds, and other closing documents.
- Assist with entity formations, corporate filings, annual reports, resolutions, consents, minute books, and corporate records.
- Prepare spreadsheets, reports, closing checklists, and tracking schedules using Microsoft Office.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, governmental agencies, title companies, vendors, and other professionals.
- Assist with new matter intake, conflicts checks, engagement documentation, time entry, billing, and other administrative requirements.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive client and Firm information.
- Take initiative to identify issues, follow up on outstanding matters, anticipate needs, and help ensure deadlines and projects stay on track.
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative professionals.
Qualifications
- 6–7+ years of law firm legal assistant experience
- Experience supporting attorneys in multiple practice areas; litigation, real estate, corporate, and/or employment experience preferred.
- Familiarity with real estate documents, including title commitments, surveys, deeds, and closing documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience with electronic filing, document management, timekeeping, billing, and legal technology systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, accountable, and team-oriented approach with a willingness to take ownership from start to finish.
- High degree of professionalism and discretion.
