Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join a small, dynamic family and estate planning law firm supported by Job Duck. In this role, you will be central to the firm’s daily operations, ensuring attorneys are organized, cases move forward efficiently, and clients receive timely, professional service. Your work will directly support legal outcomes by managing documents, coordinating schedules, and maintaining accurate case records.
This position is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapts quickly, and takes pride in precision and follow-through. If you enjoy balancing administrative responsibilities with meaningful client interaction, this role offers both impact and growth.
• Compensation Range: USD 1,150 to 1,220 Monthly
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• File legal documents with courts and relevant agencies ensuring compliance with procedures
• Draft and send engagement letters and follow up on outstanding document requests
• Assist with time entry billing tasks and basic office coordination as needed
• Assist with client intake by collecting information preparing forms and opening new files
• Communicate with clients to provide updates gather documentation and support case progress
• Maintain accurate digital and physical case files in compliance with firm procedures
• Handle professional correspondence including emails phone calls and mail distribution
• Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents including pleadings contracts and estate planning materials
• Manage attorney calendars by scheduling client meetings court dates and key deadlines
Requirements:
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Tech-savvy with confidence learning new software tools
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently
• Prior experience in a legal assistant or similar legal support role required
• Experience in family law and or estate planning strongly preferred
