Seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to provide dedicated administrative support to associates in connection with their day-to-day transactional work at a great law firm in NYC. The Legal Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring documents and workflows are managed efficiently, with particular focus on document preparation, formatting, and management. This is an in-office position, with flexibility for later working hours to support associates as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide MS Word editing and formatting support, including troubleshooting and fixing corrupted documents.
- Enter handwritten comments and edits into Word documents with accuracy.
- Prepare and manage redlined versions of documents.
- Save and organize documents from data sites into the firm’s document management system.
- Collaborate closely with associates to support transactional projects and meet deadlines.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience; prior legal assistant or legal industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word (advanced formatting, redlining, editing required).
- Familiarity with other tools such as Litera, Adobe, and document management systems (experience with NetDocs is a plus, but training will be provided).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and provide support during extended or later hours, when necessary.
