Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Legal Assistant role based in Greenville, NC. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys with daily case management, including organizing and maintaining files, scheduling meetings and court dates, and managing calendars and deadlines. Responsibilities include drafting and preparing legal documents and correspondence, filing documents with courts and agencies, and maintaining accurate records in case management systems. The role also involves communicating with clients, courts, and other parties in a professional manner, as well as performing general administrative tasks such as answering phones, processing mail, and coordinating office logistics. The Legal Assistant will work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in law-related concepts and familiarity with legal procedures and terminology.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and filing legal documents.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Experience providing administrative assistance in a legal or professional office environment, including calendar management and file organization.
- Prior experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or in a similar legal support role.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., MS Office) and comfort learning legal practice management tools.
- Associate degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a legal setting preferred.
