Purpose
Aldridge Pite, LLP has an immediate need for a remote Legal Assistant. A Legal Assistant provides a range of legal support and administration to lawyers and other legal professionals engaged in the firm’s practice of representing financial institutions in bankruptcy, foreclosure, residential real estate or mortgage law. A Legal Assistant position is not exempt from overtime laws.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Assisting attorneys in the representation of clients in judicial foreclosure proceedings including, but not limited to, the following duties:
• Process the work load or tasks of the assigned states according to Aldridge Pite procedures, internal goals and client/insurer/investor requirements.
• Handle collateral document oversight for the west coast teams
• Draft Bailee letters and other legal documents as required
• Prepare correspondence as needed
• Process third party systems tasks and messages
• Provide timely responses/updates to clients
• Communicate with courts, title vendors and other third parties as needed
• Handle service and firm transfer tasks
• Handle reinstatement or closing of cases and ensure billing is done in a timely manner
• Handle QC tasks to ensure the team’s compliance to Legal, Regulatory, Investor and client requirements and scorecard metrics
• Coordinate and prepare files for client audits
• Maintain team reference matrices with state, court, client rules
• Handle additional tasks or projects as needed in support of the foreclosure teams
Job Requirements
• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• At least 2 year’s experience working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal
• Judicial foreclosure experience highly preferred
• Prefer knowledge of multi-state legal and/or foreclosure processes.
