Job Description:
Join Job Duck as a highly skilled Bilingual Civil Rights Legal Assistant supporting a dynamic civil rights practice where your work will directly impact meaningful, high-stakes cases. In this role, you will take ownership of essential legal and administrative processes, helping ensure cases move forward smoothly and clients receive consistent, high-quality communication. You will collaborate closely with a fast-paced legal team, contributing through critical thinking, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. • Monthly Compensation Range: From 1,142 to 1,220 USD
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Draft and assist with discovery responses and legal documentation
- Support attorneys with administrative and legal tasks as needed
- Assist in maintaining efficient workflow across ongoing cases
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and document management
- Handle inbound and outbound phone communication with clients and opposing counsel
- Summarize depositions and case-related materials
- Provide regular updates to clients regarding case status
- Prepare and organize pleadings for attorney review
- Maintain accurate calendaring of deadlines, hearings, and appointments
- Manage client intake processes and collect relevant case information
Requirements:
• 1-2 years of experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm required
• Law or law-related degree preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
• Comfortable handling client communication via phone and written channels
• Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in legal documentation
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
• Emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain a positive attitude
