Robert Half Legal is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Entry-Level Legal Assistant to join a well-established boutique Intellectual Property firm. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience in a collegiate and collaborative environment. The position is on-site, full-time, and has the potential to turn into permanent placement based on performance and fit within the team.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for registering new patents and ensuring the ongoing maintenance and legal protection of existing patents.
- Engages in comprehensive review and research of patent portfolios to support sound intellectual property management and strategic decision making.
- Accurately files patent documentation with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), handling all aspects of necessary data entry and compliance.
- Carefully proofreads legal and technical documents to maintain accuracy, clarity, and adherence to required regulations.
- Manages scheduling of meetings, deadlines, and workflow to ensure that patent-related processes and team activities remain organized and on track.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment is required to ensure familiarity with legal systems and protocols.
- Strong ability to contribute effectively within a team setting, while also demonstrating leadership and providing mentorship as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for drafting, reviewing, and presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required, with experience in graphics software considered a valuable asset.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high attention to detail, coupled with a proactive approach to identifying and solving challenges.
- Prior experience in interactions with corporate clients is considered beneficial in supporting client communications and relationships.
