About the Organisation
A leading international sports organisation is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join its legal team in Jacksonville. The organisation manages high-profile tournaments and commercial partnerships globally, operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment at the intersection of sports, media, and entertainment.
The Role
The Junior Legal Counsel will provide legal support across a wide range of commercial, operational, and regulatory matters. Reporting to senior legal leadership, this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an international sports setting.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small, collaborative legal team, assisting with commercial contracting, intellectual property matters, governance, compliance, and tournament-related initiatives, while liaising closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including sponsorship, media, licensing, and supplier contracts
- Provide legal support on corporate governance and regulatory matters
- Assist with the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including trademarks and brand assets
- Support compliance initiatives and internal policies across multiple jurisdictions
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on commercial and regulatory issues
- Liaise with internal teams such as commercial, marketing, operations, and finance
- Assist with dispute management and coordinate with external counsel as needed
- Support operational and tournament-related legal matters
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified lawyer (U.S. or common law jurisdiction preferred) with approximately 1–3 years’ post-qualification experience
- Experience at top law firm
- Exposure to commercial contracts and general corporate matters
- Interest in sports law is highly desirable
