We are looking for a highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is essential in providing comprehensive support to litigation attorneys, ensuring efficient case management and smooth trial preparation. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of legal processes.
Responsibilities:
• Assist attorneys with case management by coordinating daily workflow and administrative tasks.
• Organize and maintain legal files using electronic document management systems.
• Monitor deadlines and manage calendars for hearings, filings, and other case-related activities.
• Draft initial versions of legal documents such as pleadings, discovery materials, and other litigation-related documentation.
• Schedule depositions, coordinate service of process, and arrange court reporters and meeting locations.
• Prepare case notebooks and support attorneys in trial preparation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, vendors, and internal teams.
• Provide general litigation assistance, adapting to the needs of the team and cases.
• Report to the Office Manager for administrative matters and to attorneys for case-specific tasks.
• At least 1–3 years of experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or executive assistant.
• Proven ability to multitask and efficiently support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including advanced formatting and document preparation skills.
• Familiarity with e-filing procedures or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Experience supporting attorneys in Texas state and federal courts.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to Dallas, Texas.
• Knowledge of civil litigation processes and calendar management.
