The Senior Professional, Contract Management/Paralegal is responsible for supporting the contracting process including but not limited to review and revisions, negotiation and contract administration. In addition, this position will ensure execution of the contracts in accordance with legal requirements, corporate policies and governance.
- Required to report into office at minimum 1 day per week.
- Updated Duration: 6 months; temp-to-hire w/ possibility of extension or conversion to FTE (not guaranteed).
- Schedule: Mon thru Fri; 40 hours (8am-5pm CST); during month end close OT hours will be required.
- Pay Range: $38 - $57
Responsibilities:
- Manage the workflow of preparing contracts, agreements and other legal documents on behalf of the enterprise.
- Help to develop, optimize and implement contracts processes and standards.
- This process includes receiving the request, determining appropriate parties to involve, gathering information, coordinating with other functional and operational business units, communicating with vendor’s legal representatives, and finalizing documents through final execution.
- Advise management of contract obligations, deficiencies commitments and performance and tracks for contract renewal notice dates.
- Revise documents to conform to requirements, liaising with company attorneys on more complex drafting. Negotiate contracts with third parties, under supervision.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal customers/stakeholders to effectively understand needs, capabilities, and to effectively and efficiently complete document requests.
- Provides strong partnership within the department and with the various business unit stakeholders while representing the interest of the company.
- Organize, maintain and electronically track all contracts and related documents; maintain fully executed agreements in systems. Also ensure proper process for tracking renewal notice dates.
- Prepare and distribute reports and statistical data to facilitate planning and maintenance of accurate contract records and files.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Paralegal experience or certification a plus.
- 5-7 years of contract management (review, writing, redlining and negotiating) experience or other related experience with contracting in a corporate environment.
- Requires superior written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking.
- Proficient knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Access and Excel).
- Knowledge of standard contracting administration procedures, concepts, principles and methods.
- Effective negotiation and persuasive skills.
