Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected Portland law firm to identify a Legal Assistant for its creditors' rights practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in bankruptcy, foreclosure, collections, or litigation who is looking to join a stable and collaborative team offering strong benefits, long-term growth potential, and a hybrid work environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable supporting attorneys in a fast-paced legal setting. This role offers exposure to a variety of matters involving creditors' rights, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and related litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, prepare, and file legal documents in state and federal courts
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case-related correspondence
- Coordinate e-filings in Oregon, Washington, appellate, and federal courts
- Maintain case files and organize litigation-related documentation
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties regarding case status and scheduling
- Assist with document review, case management, and litigation support activities
- Schedule meetings, hearings, and other case-related events
- Provide administrative support to attorneys throughout the lifecycle of a matter
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in bankruptcy, foreclosure, creditors' rights, collections, or a related legal practice area
- Prior experience as a Legal Assistant within a law firm or legal department
- Familiarity with state and federal court procedures and e-filing requirements
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet competing deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Litigation support experience preferred
- Knowledge of foreclosure processes or mortgage servicing is a plus
