About The Role
The Law Office of Kristin Lillquist Reeder, PLLC is a small Bellevue law office serving clients in elder law, estate planning, guardianships, and probate. The firm is seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal who can help keep client matters, deadlines, documents, and day-to-day office operations organized and moving forward.
This position is ideal for someone with legal office experience who enjoys meaningful client contact, detailed administrative work, and the opportunity to grow into more advanced probate/estate planning paralegal responsibilities.

You are organized, dependable, and attentive to detail. You communicate clearly, follow through on tasks, and take pride in helping clients feel cared for during important and often emotional legal matters.
You have a professional phone manner, strong written communication skills, and the ability to manage several priorities without losing track of deadlines or details. You are looking for a role where you can continue building your legal skills, stay with a firm long enough to become truly valuable, and grow into more advanced paralegal responsibilities.
You are interested in building a legal assistant/paralegal career and contributing to the firm over a period of years.

Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients, courts, professionals, and other contacts by phone and email
- Prepare, organize, and file pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents under attorney supervision
- Assist with estate planning, elder law, guardianship, and probate matters
- Manage calendar items, deadlines, appointments, and reminders
- Conduct new client intakes and help maintain a positive client experience from first contact forward
- Maintain client files, organize documents, and track case-related information
- Locate client records, contact professionals, and gather information needed for client matters
- Serve as a notary and witness for legal documents, or become willing to do so if not already commissioned
- Occasional off-site support as needed (e.g. home visit to elderly clients)
- Support office systems, organization, and workflow so the firm runs smoothly and clients are served well
Requirements
What You Will Bring
- At least 1 year of legal office experience preferred, although the firm is open to a strong candidate with less experience who shows excellent aptitude, maturity, and follow-through
- Interest in developing as a legal assistant or paralegal, with potential to grow into probate paralegal responsibilities
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Welcoming, professional, and client-focused demeanor
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stay steady when the office is busy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and general comfort learning legal technology
- Familiarity with legal procedures, court filings, probate, guardianship, elder law, or estate planning is helpful
- High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree or some post-secondary education preferred
- Notary commission preferred, or willingness to become a notary
Benefits
Compensation and Benefits
- $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience, aptitude and alignment with the role
- $700 monthly medical stipend

- Paid holidays--New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (2 days-Thursday and Friday), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve

- Compensation growth will be available as responsibilities expand and probate skills develop
