We're Hiring: Legal Assistant

Are you a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive professional with a passion for supporting legal work? We’re looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team and provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to our attorneys.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to client service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative and legal support to assigned attorney(s) while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and client service.
- File legal documents with state and federal courts using electronic filing systems (e-filing) and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and deadlines.
- Monitor and track deadlines, statutes of limitations, and other critical dates to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Handle client communications, expense reporting, travel arrangements, and file maintenance.
- Open and close client files, maintain case records, and ensure compliance with Firm protocols.
- Docket deadlines and ensure accurate time entry into legal billing systems.
- Draft routine correspondence and communicate professionally with clients, courts, vendors, and internal staff.
- Assist with conflict checks, new client matter intake, and file closing procedures, as applicable.
- Provide coverage and support to other attorneys and legal assistants during planned and unplanned absences.
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and law office procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems (iManage a plus)
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to prioritize multiple tasks independently
- Professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, and discretion with sensitive information
- High school diploma required; college or business school education preferred
