We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal. HLY&P focuses on providing a comfortable, social, dynamic, and engaging environment to encourage productivity and creativity. This role of Legal Assistant/Paralegal is demanding and fast-paced. This is a great opportunity to be involved with deals made in the music industry. Candidates must be very detail-oriented, self-motivated, professional, and proactive. Exceptional spelling, grammar, and organizational skills are a must.
What you'll do
- Manage a high-volume schedule, including calendar coordination and meeting planning
- Redline, format, proofread, and edit highly confidential legal documents and agreements
- Operate Avaya multi-line phone system
- Review and analyze music licenses and contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and client guidelines
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all music licenses and agreements
- Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring timelines and deadlines are met
- Prepare engagement letters
- Submit and track expenses for reimbursement
- Maintain digital client files
- Track call sheets, new matters, and follow-up lists
Who you are
- 5+ years of Legal Assistant/Paralegal experience, preferably supporting an in-house Attorney in the field of Entertainment/Music Law
- Strong knowledge of music across all genres and decades, keen eye for trends in music and entertainment, and enjoy pop culture
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, are a motivated self-starter and creative problem solver
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent time-management with ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently; strong critical thinking skills a must
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Must be extremely self-motivated and able to accomplish assignments with limited supervision
- Must be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

$60,000 - $65,000 USD
